 Pat Widders AACTEA President 2006-2007
Welcome To AACTEA!
On January 11, 2006, the Arkansas Association for Career and Technical
Education Administrators (AACTEA) was established. As a potential
affiliate of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators
(AAEA), members will have an opportunity to take an active role in
shaping and promoting quality career and technical education.
As educational reform continues to take shape, it will be necessary for
career and technical education (CTE) stakeholders to take an active role
to develop the solutions to providing an active, educated, and well
prepared workforce for Arkansas.
Change is invevitable, and AACTEA wants to be on the forefront,
providing CTE professionals a means to be actively involved in dialogue
for a positive change. AACTEA believes that collaboration will be a key
in addressing the challenges that change will bring. Collaboration
will mean working with AAEA and its member organizations, as well as
other educational entities, to ensure that educational reform includes
career and technical education.
The Board of Directors for AACTEA is actively identifying others who
share this common vision, a vision that will make our young people
competitive not only in Arkansas but the world. If you have an interest
in shaping and promoting quality career and technical education, we
invite you to become a member. Membership applications and other
relevant information can be found on this website. If you have
questions, feel free to e-mail me at pwidders@uafortsmith.edu.
I hope you will get involved. Our young people deserve our very best effort in preparing them for the 21st century.
